The Fort Worden Kitemakers Conference is a wonderful four day conference that usually take place in the Spring of each year. I have been an instructor at the conference many times in the last 15 years and I always come away inspired to be more creative.
Classes range from "No-Sew" four hour classes designed for folks who do no know how use a sewing machine, to eight hour classes that require sewing knowledge and you own machine.
If you are an avid kite builder, of just want to get started, I wholeheartedly recommend that you sign up for the this event. The Fort Worden site is a turn of the century fort that has been converted into a conference center. The atmosphere feel a lot like Fort Baker in Marin County which is slowly being converted to civilian use.
