The Berkeley Kite Festival 1999 is organized by Highline Kites of Berkeley. Held annually on the last full weekend of July this was the 14th year this unique event graced the skys of Berkeley.
 

The San Ramon Art & Windfest is organized by the city of San Ramon, California and Brian Champie with sponsorship by the Northern California Kite Club and the Bay Area Sport Kite League. Held annually on Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day Weekend it is the biggest fun fly of the season.
 

The first No Politics No Whiners Kite Workshop was held on Sunday April 25th, 1999. Organized by Brian Champie and Tim Helwig it featured J.R. Tolman and Nathan Sendan as presenters.
 

This year's Lee Toy Memorial Spring Fly doubled as an NCKC monthly get together.
 

Team Seaquad could be the hottest new pair in competition this year.
 

The Northern California Kite Club came to the Marina Green in San Francisco for it's monthly fly on March 21st 1999.
 

The Bay Area Sport Kite League held it's first competition of the 1999 season on March 20th at Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley, Ca.
