Many kite fliers in the know think the new Heat from Sky Burner Kites will be the hot new kite for 2001. We first tested this kite at AKA in Florida last year. At the recent kite trade show, we had a chance on Saturday to fly a 2001 production model fitted with a high-performance P-200 SkyShark frame. Smooth performance in a wide range of winds combined with excellent trickability should make the Heat a real winner for advanced pilots and beginners alike. It looks like Sky Burner’s Heat will be a hot seller in 2001. Below are two Heat color combos hanging above the Sky Burner booth.
Here is a great photo of the Heat holding a tip stand on the dry lakebed. We flew the Heat with Mike Dennis and Pam Kirk and were impressed with the kite’s all-around handling. We were also impressed with how well the kite handles high winds as well as low winds. There is a chance that this color combination may not make it into production but we liked the photo so much we just had to include it here.
Here is another shot of the Heat with mountains of the high desert in the background. The austere beauty of the desert topography always astonishes us, causing us to wish we could visit the high desert more often.
Here is a picture of Mariane in the Sky Burner booth with Brian Champie helping out. At the top of the booth you can see the new stackable roks that are now part of the Sky Burner line.
